We enjoyed our time in Sri Lanka enormously. The organisation of the holiday and our driver/guide was very good and there were no hitches! We loved the country too, so varied and interesting. Your suggestions about the itinerary and places to stay also worked well.
It was an interesting mix of hotels - we particularly enjoyed our stay on the tea plantation at Ella and happy you suggested having an extra day. This is just picking one highlight, but there were many others including the safaris which were very enjoyable in their different ways.
Our guide Anura was good bloke. I describe him in that way because one aspect of the holiday about which we were anxious was spending so much time with someone which could potentially have been an unhappy experience. He was however friendly and knowledgeable, but also more importantly knew when to leave us alone or stop talking! This sort of sensitivity isn’t shown by everyone, particularly men! I would recommend him highly.
We would very much like to go back, probably next year and would again be looking for your advice. We’re pleased we didn’t try to pack too much in as there must be many interesting things to do in other parts of the island.
So thank you again for organising everything so well. Please pass on our good wishes to Pathi who looked after us very well when we stayed at his place. Do also pass on our thanks to Anura who made it all work together so well!
