We had a fabulous time and would like to thank you for your support and guidance. Unfortunately we did not manage any of the longer walks planned due to continuous rain at times we had allocated and the nasty proliferation of leeches. But that didn’t take away from our experience in the country. It was much rainier season than usual and the humidity was quite overbearing - so air conditioning was a saviour. Big [Game] Camp Yala and Ashburton [Ashburnham Estate, Knuckles] were only places without - and we struggled a bit with sleeping…
We were particularly impressed with the support provided by Nihal. We hadn’t realised we would have a driver assigned for most of the trip, and this felt very luxurious and made everything so much easier. Just a suggestion, but I would highlight this in trip planning with travellers as it also means that there is more flexibility in changing plans on the spot (which was one of our concerns - didn’t want everything completely tied down beforehand)?
But Nihal really made our trip - so accommodating, kind, and a lovely man. Great guide and a credit to Tikalanka. Don’t lose him!
