What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Wildlife and friendly people.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Traffic.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
They were all very different – some that we preferred to others.
The exception was “The Plantation” [Plantation Hotel, Kitulgala] which was dirty, need restoration and sited next to reception with no views except the car park. It’s only redeeming feature was the food but that was from a very limited menu. [The customers were booked into Forest Edge, Kitulgala, but the hotel was overbooked on check-in despite a confirmed room reservation and the hotel management moved our customers to a sister property, which is not recommended by Tikalanka. We apologise for the inconvenience and sub-standard accommodation experienced by our customers.]
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Really excellent. Prompt, smart, patient, knowledgeable on wildlife. [Anura]
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Very impressed with Emirates service.

These are observations NOT criticisms.
The trip gave us a good insight into the wildlife of the country. However, this came at a price of some very early starts followed by afternoons with very little to do. Many of the hotels were in “remote” locations and being reasonably active people found that there was little to occupy our time except sleep or read.
Whilst appreciating that journey times are only general estimates we found that at Xmas time they were understated e.g. Colombo to Sigiriya was near 7 hours rather than 3.
We were disappointed that Forest Edge was overbooked for one of our nights. We understood that these rooms had been confirmed and the alternative (The Plantation) was not a good experience.
