What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
The stunning scenery and countryside, wildlife and tropical lush greenery.
Warm climate (esp in British wintertime).
Ease of travel (such a variety to see with relatively short journeys).
Fresh food and great local cuisine.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Liked everything overall, but if anything would say the ‘tourist’ influences in beach area we visited (Unawatuna) mean risks it may become too generic and not feel very Sri Lankan. (eg international food menus, Russians and other foreigners buying up the businesses, volume of beach beds close together, plastic bottles and other rubbish etc).
Also, the mosquitos and bitey insects are annoying (but inevitable).
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
All of it was excellent – surpassed expectations. Varied and interesting, each place with something very special and unique. Places with pools were clean. Food choices and prices in hotels reasonable. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Helpful staff. Great food. Some wonderful views/ locations.

What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Anura was excellent. Gentle, polite, kind, informative. He gauged us well with what level of information and activity would suit us. Good driver. Easy company. He knew a lot about the birds and animals and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about showing us around his country.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Good – easy check in. Our seats were changed on return journey from what we booked – bit annoying as we didn’t notice until we boarded. [Arranged their own flights]
Any other comments?
A wonderful holiday, and we are very happy with the itinerary, accommodation and driver [guide] booked through you. It was all incredibly straight forward and efficient.
Only comment on anything to improve would be to have Direct flights as an option to book with TikaLanka. [We would like to offer flights with SriLankan Airlines again, which is the only airline to provide direct, non-stop flights from the UK to Sri Lanka. However, our flights consolidator withdrew the airline failure insurance for the airline last year, which means we are unable to offer flights with SriLankan at the present time.] And perhaps increase options on accommodation booking options. The place we booked ourselves (Sergeant House in Unawatuna) was excellent and we’d definitely recommend it for others, should your booking team be looking for places. [We offer a wide range of quality accommodation options at various locations around the island, which we check and validate ourselves. Seargent House at Unawatuna has been on our recommended list in the past but with so many other places to stay preferred by our customers, we haven’t used it for some time now, but thanks for the recommendation!]
