What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Beach area.
Friendly people.
Reliably warm.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Long car journeys to ancient cities, especially Anuradhapura.
Sometimes too humid.
Not warned where hotel unlicensed for alcohol.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Hotels on beach [The Last House, Tangalle and Aditya, Galle]: v. good but Aditya in Galle had no view (except kitchen wall!) [All Ocean Suites were fully booked at time of booking so a Garden Suite was booked instead.]
Heritance Tea Factory [Nuwara Eliya]: v. good.
The Wallawwa [Airport]: v. good.
Kalundewa Retreat [Dambulla]: much too remote, with little to do and no facilities nor licence for alcohol.
The Secret Ella [Ella]: not really ready for visitors?! (only recently opened) The "beautiful view" obscured by painted glass. [98 Acres Resort, our first choice, was fully booked.]
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Anura - Interesting knowledge about birds and animals (also historic places visited). Careful driver. Helpful and courteous. Willing to put himself out for our convenience. Very good indeed. Pleasant company.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Very good outward journey. [Emirates from London Gatwick]
Emirates return flight not so good - cabin staff disorganised; no 'goody' bag etc. [Business Class]
