What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
There were so many good things. The friendly people, the culture and the atmosphere. Great diversity of animal life. Big highlight was seeing Green Turtles lying their eggs on the beach [Turtle Conservation Project, Tangalle].
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Our only disappointment was not seeing any whales but that cannot be guaranteed and they did try VERY hard!
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Overall it was excellent. The larger hotels were very good with comfortable rooms and good facilities. The small guesthouses were lovely with wonderful hospitality and great food. Peter was even invited to accompany the owner of Hanthana House [Kandy], Mr Pathi, on his early morning walk! We were made welcome everywhere we went.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
We gave Oscar 12/10. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He helped to ensure we had a truly great holiday. We had the occasional communication misunderstanding but overall we would recommend him to any travellers wanting a stress free time.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
As good as can be expected in economy class long haul. [Emirates - London Gatwick]
Any other comments?
We had a wonderful time and would recommend Tikalanka to anyone wishing to holiday in Sri Lanka.
