What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Expertise of Kapila, our [chauffeur] guide.
Amazing scenery.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Management of Yala [West] National Park - uncontrolled numbers of visitors, detrimental to wildlife.
Likewise, the mismanagement of turtle egg-laying watch [Rekawa Turtle Sanctuary, Tangalle].
Any other comments?
[Jetwing] Vil Uyana [Sigiriya]: Lovely hotel in every way. However, as we handed in our key on leaving, we were told that 2 sarongs were missing from our room. Very upsetting (NB Not guilty!).
Ellerton [Kandy]: Perfect!
[Jetwing] Warwick Gardens [Nuwara Eliya]: Lovely, nice staff. However, rather austere.
Chaaya Wild [Yala]: Excellent in every way. However, see comments above re Yala National Park.
Buckingham Place [Tangalle]: Cannot fault. Very enjoyable stay.
The Sun House [Galle]: Very nice, atmospheric. However our bathroom (Hibiscus) in need of upgrading. In addition, outside shower a nice idea, but not clean (i.e. didn't feel clean, and it seemed vulnerable to visiting animals - I have a photo of a cat sleeping above the showerhead. Could a monkey get in?) and, in spite of mosquito net, we were troubled with mosquitoes.
We were very happy with the organisation of our tour. Thank you - everything went to plan!
