What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Great scenery, wildlife, hotels, food and people. Roads are good and transport relatively easy.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
A long way from the UK but a small sacrifice for the pleasure of Sri Lanka.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
All the hotels we stayed in were excellent and generally the hotel staff and management tried very hard to provide a warm welcome and unforgettable experience.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Our chauffeur guide [Niroshan] was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and a good and safe driver.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Emirates Airlines were very good especially the A380 plane. [London Heathrow - Economy Class]
Any other comments?
Forest Rock Garden Hotel [Resort, Anuradhapura] - Great buildings in an unique setting. Spoilt slightly minor issues which could easily be solved by an attentive manager - e.g serving warm beer and soda in 33C+ heat, very limited lunch menu with only one option.
Heritance Kandalama [Dambulla] - remains one of our favourite hotels with great food and efficient and friendly staff. Our room had badly stained toilet, bath and sink and if you then looked closely the whole room needed refurbishment. But still a great place to stay.
Maalu Maalu [Resort & Spa, Passekudah] - another favourite hotel of ours. Superb staff.
Gal Oya Lodge [Gal Oya] - dare we say another favourite. Their excursions were very good and their naturalists were amazingly friendly and enthusiastic. One even remembered us from last year. We would recommend using their services.
98 Acres Resort [Ella] - stunning setting and with a relaxed atmosphere. Again staff were excellent.
[Mandira] Strathdon Bungalow [Adam’s Peak] - we are pleased you included this as it was unforgettable. We were pampered by the staff and the setting and buildings were excellent.
The Wallawwa [Airport] - Great food, accommodation and brilliant staff.
Niroshan our driver was excellent and please pass on our thanks to Pathi in Sri Lanka.
