What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
The people, the scenery.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
The driving (not our driver), tipping and the Chinese (on mass!).
Yala (driving to the park very hairy - too many people and 4x4s).
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Good, especially the boutique hotels 98 Acres [Resort, Ella] and Buckingham Place [Tangalle]. Loved our homestay in Kandy [Hanthana House].
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Our driver/guide Niroshan was very good. He had a very detailed knowledge of all the sights we visited and life in Sri Lanka in general. His driving was very good.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Flew with SriLankan Airlines from Heathrow direct [booked independently]. The flights and staff were polite and helpful. We got extra legroom seats on check-in on request. The alternative of flying via Dubai would have involved a long stopover.
Any other comments?
Found Yala a disappointment. May be a smaller, less hectic park would have suited us better. Accommodation there fine though [The Safari, Tissamaharama].
Also, a train trip next visit!
But overall we had a marvellous time with no complaints.
