What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
The scenery, wildlife, people and food.
What did you like most about Maldives?
Quiet island, beautiful, good food and excellent reef. [Filitheyo Island Resort]
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
The rain and constant tipping.
What did you like least about Maldives?
Leaving.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Villa Araliya [Negombo], good but quite pricey for food/drink. Not a great area.
Galkadawala [Habarana], loved the experience, personal and good food, totally unique.
Hanthana House [Kandy], great family food, friendly, views. Struggled with lack of hot water.
Hill Cottage [Nuwara Eliya], poor weather and cold room, lack of atmosphere for eating, poor tea plantation tour took 5-10 mins.
Zion View, superb view loved Ella, should have stayed longer to enjoy the area, good food but a little pricey in hotel, Very friendly and decent rooms. Definitely one to return to, walk to little Adams Peak and area returning via railway line back to Ella, excellent.
Kalu’s [Hideaway, Uda Walawe], loved the views, laid back atmosphere, safari and food, would return here too.
Fort Bliss, decent room overlooking sea, Galle not enough for us and one night enough although that is nothing against the property. Good sea trip, plenty of whales etc.

What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Excellent driver, good knowledge, intelligent. [Niroshan]
We received a good insight into Sri Lankan life.
Curtailed short on last day due to family bereavement, not a problem.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka and Maldives?
Sri Lankan Airlines [Economy Class] superb, good food, modern plane, plenty of leg room, courteous staff. (Old plane on return from Male not so good but short flight).
Any other comments?
A truly wonderful holiday that even the weather could not spoil. First time we have not driven ourselves and still enjoyed using a guide and all the information given.
Beautiful island, lovely people, great food. Could not have been better for a first trip.
If we visited again we would return to Ella, our favourite area and then visit other new areas.
Tikalanka Tours seem to have a good reputation and we feel the rooms offered to us were above average for the hotel position.
Filitheyo was perfect for us, nothing prepares you for the view over the atolls, the seaplane transfer (3 hour delay though!). Deluxe Villas the best position, we looked at waterside villas but these are not so private. Excellent food choice and brilliant reef although occasional strong currents an issue for some people.
