Food, people and culture.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Sadly, the weather on many days was awful – but that is not the fault of the country.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
EXCELLENT – Horathapola [Estate, Wadumunnegedera], Ellerton [Kandy], [The] Argyle [Hatton] and Anantara Peace Haven [Tangalle Resort, Tangalle] – all different but high standard.
GOOD – Wilpattu Safari Camp [Wilpattu].
Not to my taste – Heritance Kandalama [Dambulla] rather brutal in style even though has won awards, restaurant very impersonal. Melheim Resort [& Spa, Haputale] has good views but better for mountain goats!
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Extremely professional and unfailingly helpful; a safe driver and knowledgeable guide. Any tour that has Nihal should be very pleased.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Fine. [Booked own flights]
Any other comments?
Well planned, unfortunate that the weather was often so poor. This was especially the case for the whale watching day so unfair to pass an opinion on the company.
