What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Good mix of relaxed beach time, cultural visits, wildlife.
Friendly people, good food, good hotels.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Constant tipping/commission - drive-in visits (though we understood why…).

Niroshan was a wonderful driver (safe and reassuring) and guide (knowledgeable) and had a good balance between being friendly and being discreet, leaving us time to ourselves.
All hotels except one were great; we felt we always had good rooms chosen for us. We had best seats in the observation car on the train from Kandy [to Nuwara Eliya].
Forest Rock [Garden] Hotel was a bit too much! It felt gimmicky, and too far from Anuradhapura.
The hotel in Kandy, Serendip, was lovely, but would have been good to have been in Kandy so we could have explored independently, as this was our only city visit.
