What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
People, historic sites.
What did you like most about Maldives?
Restful and natural environment, resort staff and management, swimming and snorkelling. [Angsana Velavaru]
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Not much time to relax and appreciate the nicer places to stay.
What did you like least about Maldives?
Nothing to dislike!
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Water Garden [Sigiriya] was delightful, with excellent cuisine and beautiful surroundings.
Mountbatten Bungalow [Kandy] was a beautiful setting, but overall a bit disappointing: the cabins were very poorly lit, food was average.
Disappointed with Koslanda [Living Heritage], we both fell ill here, (another guest had to go to hospital at the same time). Also a little too ‘natural’: no AC meant using very noisy fan, and windows all open. Hence ended up exhausted through lack of sleep. There were so many leeches in the woods, so enjoying the surroundings was not possible!
[Uga] Chena Huts [Yala] was fantastic and we really recharged our batteries here, although Pam couldn’t do the game drive due to still suffering from ill effects of Koslanda. Food and accommodation were excellent.
Last stop was attractive with good food, but was rushed with late arrival and early start so not much time to form an opinion. [The Wallawwa, Airport]
Generally the staff were all helpful and so friendly. We really enjoyed our visit. We formed the opinion that due to the busy schedule of this kind of holiday, and time taken to adjust for ‘westerners’, it is important to have high standards of food preparation, and effective A/C, to prevent exhaustion!

What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Oscar was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He also coped with long days and local driving conditions very well. I would like to travel with him again.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka and Maldives?
Flights were fine, we were lucky to be able to upgrade from DXB to CMB. Probably next time we would choose business class for the longer leg from DXB to LHR if possible. [Emirates – Economy Class]
Any other comments?
We loved the trip, and the organization was very good.
Also we know that some of the choices were limited by our booking late, but everything went smoothly, and the sights were spectacular.
We loved the Rock Palace at Sigiriya, and the cave temple [Dambulla] was incredible.
