What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
The variety of activities – ancient culture, Buddhism, national parks, the coast/beach.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
The heat and humidity. (Thank goodness for air conditioned rooms and vehicle.)
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Excellent. We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay in six very different styles of accommodation.
Heritance Kandalama [Dambulla] was the only disappointment. Whilst it is a unique design, it is now in need of refurbishment. It was full of large tour groups. The bar areas were absolutely soulless and the dining room was a large, crowded, frenetic cafeteria. It was possible to eat dinner outside on the rooftop space but it was dimly it. I cannot recommend this hotel.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Our trip was a huge success, largely due to Anura (and your itinerary!). He was thoughtful, considerate, a first rate driver and a very knowledgeable guide. Always with a beaming smile and a good sense of humour. He is an asset!
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
My first flight on Emirates – very good service and more legroom then competitors. [Economy Class – London Heathrow]
