What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Loved it all really, Galle, the three safaris, the hotels we stayed in, the tea area and train trip, the beach few days at Passikudah, and the Cultural Triangle especially Sigiriya. Everything more than lived up to expectation.
We were also very fortunate to have Chathura as our driver/guide – he was superb in every respect.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
[The] Planters Bungalow, Ella is lovely and the staff and food excellent. A woman would make a few minor tweaks like the addition of shower gel, & refreshed magazines (if any) in the rooms – all the staff are men and the new owner doesn’t visit... but we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast and would definitely stay there again.
With the benefit of hindsight I would go to Polonnaruwa earlier in the day – we chose to be there early afternoon and it was terribly hot – but it was our decision.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
We had excellent accommodation – from Jetwing hotels [Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle; Jetwing Lagoon, Negombo], Maalu [Maalu] Resort [& Spa, Passikudah], Cinnamon Wild [Yala] and Kalu’s Hideaway [Udawalawe] – we could hardly decide which we loved the most – they were amazingly good, as was the food. We met Kalu at his resort which was a treat too.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Chathura was so very very good – we feel very lucky to have had him as our chauffeur/guide.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
We flew via Doha [Qatar Airways] and it was fine. [Arranged their own flights.]
Any other comments?
We had a wonderful holiday in every respect, thank you. I have already recommended your company to others.
We did use the Ayurvedic spas in Maala Maala and while at Kassapa Lion’s Rock [Sigiriya], although in the latter case not the spa in the hotel complex.
