Biting insects!
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Very good. All were as we expected.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Nihal was amazing. Very knowledgeable on wildlife, farming, ways of life and culture in Sri Lanka. Great driver and accommodating in any change of plans. So polite and lovely in every way.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Qatar Air[ways] very good. [Booked their own flights]

We are back and a million thanks for organising such a fabulous time for us. [An absolute pleasure to arrange the holiday for you and I am so pleased that you had such a fantastic time in Sri Lanka – isn’t it beautiful, interesting and unique?] Nihal was just the best and brilliant for me as he was so knowledgeable about the agriculture, plants and birds which is a huge interest for me. [Nihal is an exceptional guide. I know from my own experience of Nihal’s personal and professional qualities – he was our guide for a family trip back in 2016 and all the family loved him. He is one of our star guides and much appreciated, I can tell you.]
The hotels were all brilliant, even Helga’s Folly [Kandy], which I admit is “unusual”! [Booked independently]
Nihal was horrified by it but much more impressed with my nephew’s hotel [Halcyon Mawella, Tangalle] which I have to say was amazing, decor, food, atmosphere, position. It was also the only one full apart from 98 Acres [Resort & Spa, Ella] which we loved as well. [After your recommendation and Nihal’s positive impressions we will definitely visit Halcyon Mawella with the view of including it on our recommended accommodation list.]
FYI you can go to Helga’s Folly for an evening drink and tour round for US$5 [per person] which might interest some of your customers. It is quite something! [Helga’s Folly has always been on and off our recommended accommodation list in the past due to customers’ variable comments and the hotel’s hit-and-miss service, house-keeping and maintenance. May be we will give it yet another look... Thanks for the info about the tour there.]
The car was really comfy and as I said Nihal was just a lovely person and everything ran so smoothly. Never an anxious moment. [Glad to hear that the car suited as well.]
The guide and driver in Yala [Mahoora Premium] were also excellent and on 2 of our safaris went over time to make sure we saw everything. We even saw a croc eating a water buffalo and on the afternoon the second day we went to section 5 on his recommendation which was just so beautiful and saw the large dam and a wonderful female elephant and her baby. [Yes, Block 5 of Yala NP towards Lunugamvehera is the specialists area of the park and the Mahoora team is excellent at showing our customers something different and special. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the experience.] We said we would pay extra for this as it was a bit further away but when we left we realised we hadn’t. Happy to do this if required. We tipped both guide and driver extremely well! [Don’t worry about any extra payment. Very good of you to tip generously especially considering the current economic situation on the island.]
We had a wonderful holiday. Everything was well planned with plenty of time allowed to do all the things we had chosen to do. A great mixture of relaxation and sightseeing and learning about the country and its lovely people.
