What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
People seemed kind and friendly, we felt welcome.
Lush, green landscapes (didn’t expect this to be so consistent).
Wild elephants.
Good roads, manageable scale (not too much driving time).
Contrasts and mix of experiences (coast, tea plantations, national parks, temples, history).
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
There was nothing we disliked.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Very satisfied with all.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Ravi is a good guide who we grew to like, and a safe, reliable driver which we valued very highly.
He should be encouraged to (a) make a more lengthy introduction of himself and the planned trip on first meeting at the airport or in the vehicle immediately afterwards (at which point a complimentary bottle of cold water would be welcome), and (b) have a fuller discussion each day about what is planned/optional/recommended. We are experienced travellers and knew what questions to ask in terms of what was going to happen/might happen, but we had to keep working at this (the written info from Tikalanka was very helpful).
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Emirates was pretty good. [Economy Class from Oslo] None of us had used them before. Michael is tall and was worried about leg room, but it was just about ok. Meals were good, cabin staff were pleasant and helpful. The transit terminal at Dubai was surprisingly uninspiring, but tolerable.
Any other comments?
We were all very happy with this holiday.
We appreciated the ease of dealing with Tikalanka, John was a pleasure to plan and then to correspond with. We felt we were in good and safe hands.
