What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Trees.
Scenery/wildlife.
Water conservation – way ahead of [the rest of] the world!
Culture/history.
Hospitality/cuisine.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Poverty suggests political mismanagement.
Towns mostly squalid.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Excellent overall, particularly The Other Corner [Habarana] and Buckingham Place [Tangalle].
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Chathura was quite outstanding. Punctual, courteous, knowledgeable across a broad range – history, culture, religion, wildlife. His ornithological expertise in particular was a major asset. His driving in the fraught road conditions was massively reassuring.
Ravi was also most helpful.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Obviously a long overnight journey is a challenge, with a change in Doha, but the connections were smooth and the flights reasonably comfortable. [Qatar Airways – Economy Class – Manchester]
Any other comments?
We were absolutely thrilled! Each day brought new experiences and somehow managed to top the previous one. People were friendly and welcoming, and could not do enough for us. The programme was full and varied, taking account of our wide-ranging interests and desire to see as much as we could of this beautiful island. Food was of high quality, beautifully prepared and served. Lion beer brewed from rice was good too! Bottled water was provided everywhere – not necessary to take your own bottles!
