What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Excellent.
Horathapola [Estate, Airport] – Simple but very good. Excellent room, excellent food. 8/10
Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris, Wilpattu – Very basic living but marvellous guide and super food.
Lake Lodge [Kandalama, Dambulla] – A winner! Good food, good room and superb staff, particularly the owner/manager Michel. 10/10
Ellerton, Kandy – Just sold as you may know so comments probably don't apply. But very pleasurable old-style colonial living. Food OK, service OK but a hell of road to get up there and too far from Kandy for convenience. 8/10
Langdale by Amaya [Nuwara Eliya] – Nice position on hill, faded decoration and furniture, appalling management. 35 mins for a cup of tea! 5/10
Kahanda Kanda [Galle] – Very classy place with individual suites/rooms, 3 with their own pools. Good food, good service, all marvellous except a bit far from Galle to dine there (35 mins by tuk-tuk) and nearly too far from the beaches (Mirissa = 50 mins). It’s a smart living hotel where one mixes less with the other guests than at others. 10/10
I don’t know the individual prices per hotel because we paid you a total sum so it’s difficult to gauge values but Lake Lodge was particularly good.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Excellent. [Niroshan]
English – Good enough.
Information – Very good.
Humour – Excellent.
General – Excellent.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Very good. [SriLankan Airlines – Business Class]

Duly back from Sri Lanka on Tuesday and just thought I'd drop you a quickie note to say thank you for all the arranging which went like clockwork. We much enjoyed the holiday: the variety of countryside and activities, the food, our excellent guide Niroshan but most of all the smiling charming Sri Lankans.
All great fun and, as I say, our guide/chauffeur was charming!! Thanks for all arranging!
