What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Safe atmosphere, wide range of experiences available, beautiful landscapes, flora & fauna.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Busy coastal resort (Mirissa); air pollution in Kandy.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
It was all very good. The TOC [The Other Corner, Habarana], Madulkelle [Tea & Eco Lodge, Knuckles] and Amba [Estate, Ella] accommodation was outstanding – less formal style than hotels, very friendly staff and beautiful locations. Food at all places was excellent.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Nihal Gunarathne is a five star chauffeur/guide. He was professional at all times, reliable, flexible to our interests, extremely knowledgable about Sri Lankan wildlife and very observant. He really went the extra mile for us.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
We were very happy with these – only problem was in getting vegetarian food on the return leg. Neither the website or airport staff in either direction were effective in getting us on the vegetarian list. We had managed to change it for the out-going leg online. Needs to be done when the flights are booked we think. [Emirates - Economy Class from Birmingham]
Any other comments?
We were happy with the holiday. The programme worked really well. We had time on our own as well as being 'guided'. We managed one full day trek. We had specified that we wanted to do 1-2 full day walks. This was available at Madulkelle – but not at Amba. In fact this was fine but not what we had asked for or expected. Our guide came up trumps and took us on a half day walk at Amba to Ella Rock, which was not on his schedule. There was a range of short self-guided walks available at Amba apparently.
