What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Very good, although the food and service at Palm Garden Village [Hotel, Anuradhapura] was not quite as good as elsewhere. We loved Zion View [Ella] and the Jetwing [Lagoon] at Negombo [Airport] and the food and service at Nilaveli [Beach Hotel, Nilaveli] was excellent although the bathroom could do with a little TLC there. Hanthana House [Kandy] was lovely and welcoming and Sigiriya [Hotel Sigiriya] was just fine. The Royal River Resort [Kitulgala] was an experience but fine although some may feel the food is a little plain but we were ok with it.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Brilliant. Kapila was a mine of information and had a passion for wildlife and the Buddhist culture. He was an excellent guide.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Very good although in the aftermath of the plane crash our bags were left in Dubai and it took a while to get them on the Sunday morning because of form filling in at Colombo airport (c’est la vie) [Emirates from London Gatwick - Economy Class]
