What did you like most about Sri Lanka?

The people are lovely, their culture and beliefs.

The diversity of the island is wonderful, culture, wildlife, history and beach.

The food is colourful, tasty and Mrs Pathirana’s cooking is marvellous. [Hanthana House, Kandy]

Their railway is a great experience.

What did you like least about Sri Lanka?

How far away it is!

A little bit of pestering in market and beach resorts.

What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?

Mostly excellent, the accommodation was very good and the staff very attentive. We had one night at Hill Cottage [Nuwara Eliya] which has no form of heating in a cold area and the food was poor. [Hill Cottage has been removed from our recommended accommodation list.]

What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?

Our guide Oscar couldn’t have been better, he was courteous, informative, reliable, punctual and made our itinerary run smoothly.

What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?

It is what it is, a long way! It was fine. [SriLankan Airlines – Economy Class]

We were very pleased with our itinerary and impressed that it covered all of our original brief.
