What did you like most about Sri Lanka?
Wildlife, variety, change of culture, friendly people, nice hotels, weather.
What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
Tipping (not having small money, unsure what is fair), general driving in Sri Lanka.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
An eclectic mix which were generally all very good.
Hotel Sigiriya [Sigiriya] – 9/10 – Lovely food, views and room.
Hotel Suisse [Kandy] – 8/10 – Lots of style, comfortable, food ordinary.
Royal River [Resort, Kitulgala] – 6/10 – Lovely location, poor access, grubby pool, a/c not working, fresh but limited food.
Grand Hotel [Nuwara Eliya] – 9/10 – Lots of style, excellent food.
Grand Udawalawe [Safari Resort, Uda Walawe] – 9/10 – Lovely hotel, dining room hot [as] no a/c or fan.
Cinnamon Wild [Yala] – 9/10 – Wonderful location.
Paradise Beach Club [Mirissa] – 8/10 – Good location, room and facilities, food ordinary.
98 Acres [Resort, Ella] – 10/10 – Excellent.
Fort Bliss [Galle] – 8/10 – Nice welcome, friendly staff, good food, comfortable room.
The Wallawwa [Airport] – 10/10 – Excellent.
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Kapila. A really nice, friendly chap. First class in all respects, well presented (self & car). Efficient & caring, good sense of humour, very knowledgeable (nature & culture), good company, offered good suggestions, flexible, excellent safe driver.
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka Airways [SriLankan Airlines]: efficient, comfortable, good service, good baggage allowance, lots of refreshments offered, good in-flight entertainment. [Economy Class]
Any other comments?
Excellent holiday, John, well organised and efficient, great service from Tikalanka. Kapila is an excellent guide.
