Food.

What did you like least about Sri Lanka?
The number of stray dogs.
Traffic congestion in Colombo.
What is your opinion of your accommodation in Sri Lanka?
Horathapola [Estate, Airport]: Ideal first stop. Beautiful house, excellent food.
Galkadawala [Habarana]: Unique style of accommodation made from recycled materials. Lack of welcome/introduction on arrival. Food was very good albeit no soft drinks after 18.00 which seemed a bit odd (no alcohol served).
Ellerton [Kandy]: Top class accommodation. Friendly staff and welcoming host/owner. Overall this is a very relaxing environment. Wished we had stayed a day or two longer!
[Jetwing] Warwick Gardens [Nuwara Eliya]: Again, top class accommodation in a beautiful setting.
Melheim [Resort, Ella]: Good food, friendly staff.
Cinnamon Wild [Yala]: Good accommodation, good buffet catering for all tastes and ideally located for safari trips.
Turtle Bay [Tangalle]: Very attentive staff in a chilled out beach location. Manager and chef go out their way to offer excellent Sri Lankan dishes for dinner.
Galle Face [Hotel, Colombo]: Stunning façade and recently modernised rooms. Very comfortable!
What is your opinion of your chauffeur guide in Sri Lanka?
Niroshan is an excellent guide. He is a competent and safe driver, taking no unnecessary risks. His knowledge of the Sri Lankan culture, history and wildlife is excellent. His manner is very pleasant and he has an excellent grasp of the English language. We could not have expected better!
What is your opinion of your flights to and from Sri Lanka?
We booked our own business class flights with Qatar Airways (from Edinburgh). We have used the airline before and again found their service to be first class. The 60 minute changeover in Doha was very efficient.
Any other comments?
We had a great holiday. The quality of accommodation, the variety of local food, the friendliness of the people and the knowledge of our driver all surpassed our expectations. Well done to Tikalanka for arranging all of this. We would not hesitate to recommend you to our family and friends.
