Fort Bazaar courtyard, Galle fort, Sri Lanka

Hot off the press! The much anticipated and eagerly awaited swimming pool at Fort Bazaar within Galle fort will finally open on 15 December 2024. This very generous 15 metres by 6 metres infinity pool with attached shallow area is surrounded by a sundeck edged with tropical plants. Two large bread fruit trees provide welcome shade, though there is plenty of space for lounging beneath the warm tropical Sri Lankan sun. Around the pool are single sunbeds and double daybeds. There will be service around the pool as well as a bar on the pool deck, serving cold beers, wines and soft drinks, and a small snacks menu.

Teardrop Hotels is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership between Wallawwa and globally recognised wellness brand, Vikasa, to bring a series of exclusive wellness experiences to guests seeking a rejuvenating escape during their holiday in Sri Lanka. Guests can participate in daily private or group sessions of yoga, guided meditation, sound healing, Reiki, and gong baths, led by Vikasa’s expert Wellness Practitioner, Evangeline Kehing.

Wallawwa also hosts Vikasa’s signature programmes, ‘Begin’, and ‘Recharge’ for those seeking a deeper wellness experience. 'Begin' is ideal for those new to yoga, while 'Recharge' focuses on reducing stress and optimising wellbeing through practical tools that guests can incorporate into daily life. Both programmes range between 3-6 nights and include nourishing meals, deeply relaxing spa treatments, as well as post-stay follow-ups.

The estate roads leading to Nine Skies and Camellia Hills have been successfully resurfaced, greatly enhancing the comfort and ease of guests and chauffeur guides reaching each property.

Following comments from past guests, air conditioners have been installed in every room at Nine Skies to ensure the comfort of future guests on warmer afternoons. All rooms remain equipped with ceiling fans for cooler evenings.

Garden Tours at Lunuganga just got even better, with the addition of a dedicated café for all daytime visitors. Conveniently located near the entrance, the café offers light meals like paninis, salads, and bites, along with refreshing drinks, including king coconut, hot coffee, cold beers, and Geoffrey Bawa’s favourite – G&T!

Operating Hours: 10:00 to 17:00 daily

Garden Tour Timings: 11:00, 14:00, and 15:00 daily

As you know, Lunuganga is a very special place to stay as well being Bawa’s private estate for more than six decades.
