Travelling Maldives

Essential Information For Maldives

Seaplane Transfers in Maldives

Unlike speedboat transfers, seaplanes can only operate during daylight hours (06.00 to 16.00), which means if your international flight arrives later than 16.00 you will be transferred the following day.

The in-hold baggage allowance on seaplanes is 20 kg per person and the hand luggage allowance 5 kg per person. Excess baggage is charged at US$2-5 per kg (depending on the resort) by the seaplane company on check-in for your flight and this is compulsory due to safety reasons. Please check with individual resorts for more information.

Electricity and Sockets

Maldives' electricity supply is 230-240 volts, 50 Hz AC. Round-pin and square-pin plugs are both common.

“A great trip, very well organized and, with the exception of the flight home, ran like clockwork. Incredibly friendly people. Beautiful and varied scenery. Great wildlife! Nihal – where can I start! Suffice to say this trip would not have been the same without him. A mine of information and a true love of his country, he taught us so much about the culture and the wildlife.”
